Our City, Our Power. Our Supervisor. Our Party. Our Club.

Potrero Hill Democratic Club monthly meeting

Tuesday, February 4th @ 6:30pm

Potrero Hill Neighborhood House, 953 De Haro St.

Our City, Our Power is the campaign for local ownership of the electric grid.
For decades, PG&E has obstructed both public and private electric projects in San Francisco with  unnecessary conditions, costly and delaying roadblocks and exorbitant fees for basic power hookups. Find out where the City is in its public-power quest.

District 10 Supervisor Shamann Walton will provide a glimpse into life at City Hall under the new administration, and update us on his priorities. Ask your questions!

In January and February of odd-numbered years, Assembly district delegates are elected to the state Central Committee and Executive Board. Each district sends 14 to the state convention, where they vote to set the policy of the state party, and also on endorsements. The list of candidates from AD 17 is here. Registered Democrats can sign up by Jan. 31 to vote online.  Find out about the progressive slate here. Voting closes Feb 23.

We want to keep meeting in person! We can only do that if we can afford the rent. That’s where you come in – please join or renew your membership for just $25 a year (or more, if you’re feeling generous).

Nominations for Executive Committee are open. Election will be held in March. Vacant positions include First VP for membership, Secretary, and At-Large. Email contact_us@phdemclub.org with questions or to nominate yourself or someone else.

Tuesday Dec 3: Socialize & imagine

We invite you to join us in the back room of the Yankee for an evening of connection and community spirit. This is also an opportunity to play Santa by bringing along a non-perishable food item or two to support the SF-Marin Food Bank helping those in need.

Grab a drink and unwind in a relaxed atmosphere – no debates or election returns on the screen, just good company and conversation. We encourage you to think about local issues that matter to you and share your ideas on how our club can make a difference in the coming year. We look forward to seeing you there!

WHEN: Tuesday, Dec 3, 6:30pm
WHERE: Connecticut Yankee (pool room), 100 Connecticut St

Election Night: Start at the Yankee with PHDC!

November 5th is days way! Yikes. As if you didn’t know. Democratic campaign headquarters, 901 Market St @ 5th, has phone bank shifts 10am-8pm every day. Sign up here. VOTE, early if possible, and get your like-minded friends and family to do the same. At all levels, from local to national, it’s all about turnout. Then, let’s relax (as if!), socialize and wish each other luck. Come to the Connecticut Yankee, 100 Connecticut St, 6:30-7:30pm and find us either in the back room or out on the patio.

Later that night…

Progressive kindred spirits will gather at El Rio, 8:30 to midnight.

Another free event is at 111 Minna Gallery, 7 to 10pm.

Potrero Hill Festival Sat Oct 19, 10am to 4pm

Big fun this Saturday! Come see us at our table – look for our banner – and check out our endorsements. Hang out to talk politics – or not! Jam out to R&B music while celebrating the Potrero Hill community outdoors over 4 blocks with live music, food, family, and friends:

20th Street between Missouri & Carolina

Saturday, October 19, 10am to 4pm

The Festival, a one-of-a-kind community event for all ages, is a benefit for the Potrero Hill Neighborhood House, our local community center providing essential services to Potrero’s residents most in need.

Tues Oct 1: Watch the VP debate with us!

PHDC has had several fun watch parties in the backroom at the Yankee over the years. Since the U.S. VP debate this year falls on our regular monthly meeting night, we will gather there again. Light snacks provided, drinks and additional food available. Now that Club endorsements are complete, we are inviting endorsed campaigns and candidates to drop by with lit and window signs.
